"Mad and Blind"

Oh...

Free my heart, my soul, my mind

I’m often told that love is blind

Blind? Not so- never was clearer

My life than now; oh, never dearer

Did I hold a maid! My heart’s desire

Now is for me. My heart afire,

She haunts my dreams and waking thoughts

Omnipresent, absent not

I think I may be going mad

And yet i do not care a whit

A love so pure I never had

My heart? Take every bit of it

‘Twas always yours, my lovely one

‘Twas always yours, my light, my sun

Yours from the moment your eyes sought mine

Yours from the moment our souls intertwined

Deaf and dumb and mad and blind

So high, so low, so scatteredly set

In stranger state you could not find

Me; now that you are mine, my pet

Free my heart, my soul, my mind

So be it then- let me be blind.

... ... ...

Angel, love, where are you now?

I cannot see you where I stand

My flesh is torn; my back is bowed

You are not here to hold my hand

You took my sight, possessed my heart

How could I know what was to come?

Love slew me sleeping.  Set apart

From you, my dear, my lips are dumb;

For all my words you also stole.

You took my body, heart, and soul

And left me bleeding here alone

Dying, weeping tears of stone.

Gone my heart, my soul, my mind.

Do not trust Love. Do not be blind.
Ode to something that happened to me on winter vacation. Damn you, Venus :shakefist:
